Sex after a vasectomy – what is it like?

It’s high time to bust some myths. Libido does not drop after a vasectomy! The Journal of Sexual Medicine published the results of Australian research on vasectomy. It shows that sex drive does not decrease after a vasectomy, no erection problems appear, and the quality of orgasms does not deteriorate. What is more, men after a vasectomy are happier in their relationships – most likely because their fear of an unwanted pregnancy is reduced, but also because there are no more conflicts over contraception.
So you will still have normal erections and the same or an even greater appetite for sex. Only one thing will change. There will no longer be sperm in the ejaculate. Quite a few men after a vasectomy boast that their libido has increased, because they no longer have to think about protection!
Consider, however, whether you or your partner have a negative attitude towards vasectomy – if so, it may turn out that the satisfaction from intercourse on one side decreases after the procedure. That will, however, be a subjective psychological feeling and not a physiological effect of the vasectomy. Perhaps your woman wanted to have more children with you.
